Have a wonderful long weekend! Any fun plans, my sweets? I'm going to see my mom and twin sister and can't wait to give them giant bear hugs. Here are some great posts from the web this week...
Hmmm, what are your thoughts on hats? My head is too giant to usually wear them (seriously, I wear a men's large baseball cap), but I'm kind of into this look...
Rosy cheeks + leg warmers = all good.
At long last, I'm excited to say that my Glamour relationships blog Smitten is finally live! Please feel free to link to it, if you'd like. (I would be so happy and eternally grateful.)
Remember Krisatomic, the Londoner with the amazing wardrobe? Well, she just opened an ebay shop, full of bags, dresses and shoes. Oh, if only my giant feet were a size 7! (Update: The shoes are actually a US size 9 -- any takers?)
My dolls, you are all so lovely and supportive and wonderful! Thank you again for being so enthusiastic about my long-awaited news. I hope it isn't totally boring compared to your guesses of my getting married, having a baby and joining the Today Show. (That would be awesome.)
Last night, we saw Man on Wire, a documentary about a French tightrope walker, and it blew my mind with both its style (their 1970's clothes were fantastic, and the reenactments felt very film noir) and gripping suspense. You have to see if it's playing near you. It's amazing.
I loved this house tour in Chicago.
Gorgeous smile from Stockholm.
Awesome. I love this coat stand for cowboys at heart. P.S. This is also super rad.
Have a wonderful weekend, my dears. Congratulations to the lovely Lina, who is getting married this weekend! I'm so excited to be one of her adoring bridesmaids.

Um, what? This John Travolta work-out book is the coolest thing I've ever seen. He teaches you how to stay fit through modern dance, and I love his super-intense gaze. Of course the copyright is 1984.
I wish I dressed like this every day.

Have you seen Mav's summer postcards? She took them on a rainy weekend in Maine.

Speaking of business cards, graphic-design student Emerson Taymor had this brilliant idea. I'd hire him, wouldn't you? (Via BBlinks)

Great news: The Mandate Press just launched a new line of letterpress business cards. They offer seven elegant styles (or design your own), and you get 250 cards for $90. (For those who haven't ordered business cards before, that is MAD CHEAP.) Thank you, Mandate!
From The Sartorialist.
When I was little, I hated pepper. My dad would always pepper the soup before serving it and I'd find it way too spicy, while my sister and brother lapped it up. But I think I've grown into it! Maybe pepper is one of those acquired tastes, like avocados, smoked fish and beer. Anyway, here are three charming salt & pepper shakers from (guess where?) etsy!

Vintage brass salt & pepper shakers.

Alex and I escaped from the city this weekend to relax at the Jersey shore. We stayed at this lovely B&B and swam in the ocean, read books on the porch and ate chicken sandwiches with fries. Alex body-surfed but I was a wuss about the waves and only went up to my knees. Overall, the beach was gorgeous and everyone was really friendly. We even met a dude with a pet parrot!
I cannot wait for this book
My sweet readers, I'm excited to show you the story I wrote for this week's New York Magazine -- about six New Yorkers' fabulous closets. All the people were nuts (in a good way)! It was a hilarious story to scout and write, and I really hope you like it.
I can't decide if this ice tray is in bad taste or not, but either way, it's pretty awesome.
Alex and I are off to swim in the ocean! We're going to New Jersey, a state with the (sad) tourism tagline, "We'll win you over." Anyway, have a wonderful weekend, and enjoy this posts from around the web this week...
On a whim, I did a search to see how many of my posts use the word "love." Answer? Almost 250. Crikey.

Hengst makes me want to wear red lipstick and live in the forties.
