Toby becomes a New Yorker.

We were taking a cab across the Brooklyn Bridge the other night, and Alex and I were feeling winter blues-y. We looked at the Manhattan skyline, which usually inspires us, but instead we just jokingly sighed a Debbie-Downer-ish "Wah waah." One minute later...that's all Toby would say. Babies don't miss a thing.

First steps

So....guess who walks??? Yesterday afternoon, Toby finally put it all together and took his first steps! (Since he's almost 18 months old, we've secretly been on the edge of our seats and are now breathing a sigh of relief.) Now he is a walking machine and cannot be stopped.


(Thanks to our babysitter Ashley for helping film this morning:) Also, I realized that our hallway looks straight out of The Shining.)

Toby gets the giggles

A little video from last weekend. Apparently the word "gulp" is secretly very, very hilarious.

P.S. Toby's laugh has changed so much! Here was his very first giggle at two months old and a belly laugh at four months old.

Toby's belly laugh

Toby has started doing hilariously awkward belly laughs every few days. Here's one we caught on tape, when Alex was opening a package. He found the wrapping paper totally hilarious.

P.S. They say the average 4-year-old laughs 400 times per day!

Toby's first giggle!

Toby giggled for the very first time yesterday! He was taking a bath, and I miraculously happened to be filming a video for my mom at the exact moment. I've now watched the video about 358,435 times.
