Jazz Age Lawn Party

This weekend, Alex, Toby and I took the ferry over to the Jazz Age Lawn Party on Governor's Island.
A jazz band played old-timey tunes, and there was a tug-of-war, pie contest and Charleston lessons.
People dressed up in fabulous 1920's ensembles--lots of pearls, suspenders and straw hats. (I, of course, wore a nursing shirt:)
Toby mingled with the dapper crowd.
And this girl wore the most fabulous swimsuit (which she had made herself). Yowza!

Jazz-Age Lawn Party

This weekend, Alex and I went to the Jazz-Age Lawn Party on Governors Island. It was super rad -- there was an old-fashioned pie contest, vintage motorcars and a rollicking brass band! People were dressed up in 1920's attire, like suspenders and straw hats (guys) and silk dresses and fascinators (girls). It was, as they say, super rad. More photos on Smitten and Flickr. xo

Governor's Island Lawn Party

WOW! Last weekend, Governor's Island held a lawn party, complete with a jazz band, vintage motorcars and a horseshoe toss under a shady grove. Judging by The Sartorialist's photos, it looks like an awesome weekend.
